Description
Weed and Feed 19-0-6 with LockUp
Weed and Feed 19-0-6 with LockUp is a premium combination fertilizer and weed control product made for established lawns and turf areas. It is a strong choice for homeowners and contractors who want to feed the lawn while controlling dandelions and other listed broadleaf weeds in one application.
With a 19-0-6 fertilizer analysis and 1.13 LockUp herbicide, this product is built for established turf maintenance. It is especially useful when you want greener color, steadier feeding, and post-emergent broadleaf weed control without having to buy separate products.
Best Time To Use
- Spring: a strong option when you want lawn feeding plus weed control as the season gets going
- Early fall: one of the best times to control many broadleaf weeds in established Connecticut lawns
- When weeds are actively growing: broadleaf control works best when target weeds are alive, growing, and not under heavy stress
For Connecticut lawns, this product usually makes the most sense in late April through May for spring feeding, or in early September when broadleaf weeds are still active and turf is growing well again. If your main goal is broadleaf weed control, fall is often the stronger window. If your main goal is lawn feeding plus cleanup of visible weeds, spring also makes sense.
Application Rate
- Standard rate: 3.5 to 4.0 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft.
- 40 lb bag coverage at 3.5 lbs per 1,000: about 11,400 sq. ft.
- 40 lb bag coverage at 4.0 lbs per 1,000: about 10,000 sq. ft.
How The Rate Changes By Goal
- For general lawn feeding with weed control: 3.5 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. is a practical starting rate
- For heavier weed pressure or fuller label-rate performance: use 4.0 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft.
- For broadleaf weed control: timing and condition of the weeds matter just as much as the rate
This is not really a product where you wildly change the rate based on season. The bigger decision is why you are using it. If the lawn mainly needs feeding and you also want some weed control, the lower end of the label range is reasonable. If the lawn has heavier weed pressure and you want stronger overall performance, use the upper end of the label range.
Important Use Tips
- Use on established turf only
- Apply to recently mowed turf when weed foliage is moist for better broadleaf uptake
- When possible, delay mowing or irrigation for several days after treatment for better post-emergent weed control
- The pre-emergent component works better when activated by about 1/2 inch of rain or irrigation within 30 days
- Do not use on brand-new seed until after the third mowing or after the turf has developed an adequate secondary root system
- Always follow the bag label for exact spreader settings, turfgrass restrictions, and all application directions
Why Customers Choose It
- Feeds the lawn and controls listed broadleaf weeds in one pass
- Good fit for established lawns in spring and early fall
- Helps simplify lawn care by combining fertilizer and weed control
- Useful for dandelions and other visible broadleaf weed problems
- Includes a pre-emergent component for added weed prevention
