Pool Base Tips

For many above-ground pool installations, sand is used beneath the liner to help create a smooth, supportive base. Exact depth can vary by pool and installation method, but many pool installers reference roughly 2" to 3" of sand as a typical starting range. The area should be leveled properly and kept as free from rocks, roots, and debris as possible before the liner goes down.

Important Note

Pool Sand for pool base preparation is not the same as bagged pool filter sand. If you are looking for sand for a pool filter, that is a different specialized product with a specific grading.
